Just a quick post to say thanks to everyone who made the London Taxi Drivers ball such a huge success last night.

Amanda with TOWIE star, Lauren Pope

Celebrities from the tv and media turned up in their droves to support the cause which helps children with special needs. The London Taxi Drivers Fund for Underprivilleged Children (LTFUC) has been helping children since 1928 and last night marked another successful event in their long history.

Amanda was thrilled to be a part of the occasion and got everybody into a great mood with her unique partygames, music and infectious enthusiasm. Anyone who knows Amanda knows how much she enjoys working with children with Special Needs and that she is keen to do much more work in that area.

Amanda found the night rewarding and inspiring and hopes some of the contacts she made on the night will lead to more similar appearances in the near future.

It turned out the tv cameras were at the event and Amanda turned up later that evening on the ITV news. You just can’t keep her out of the headlines!

Amanda monkeys around!

Who's the cheekiest?

Amanda’s Action Club will join the best children’s entertainment brands in London to showcase parties at the One Bigg Spooky Party in Fulham this October 23rd.

This event, aimed at 2-10 year olds will give visitors the chance to see the best kids entertainers all under one roof – it’s like 50 parties rolled into one!  The spooky, Halloween theme in the majestic Fulham Palace should create an atmosphere ‘to die for’.

To find out more and to get your ticket for this Halloween party of parties click here. We hope to see you down there – we’ll be showcasing a party for 2 year olds as well as one for 5 year olds too.

Everyone knows by now of Amanda’s unfortunate road accident in Chiswick last April. Since then Amanda has been wheelchair bound while her broken bones had a chance to heal. Now in early June she’s back on her feet – literally. And dreaming of ever more Amanda’s Action Club activities.

One of Amanda’s greatest disappointments was the timing of her accident, just days before she was due to fly out to Dubai to host an Amanda’s Action Club party. The good news is that Amanda has rescheduled her trip to Dubai for October now and she can’t wait to have a closer look at the exciting opportunities the country presents.

Expectation of Amanda’s arrival in the Emirates is so great that Time Out Dubai ran a piece on her in their June edition. Read the article in full by clicking on the link at the foot of the page .

If you’ve got a good thing, why keep it to yourself. That’s Amanda’s philosophy and the reason why she’s keen to put on dynamic parties for kids the whole world over. It’ll take more than a couple of broken legs to dampen this lady’s dreams.

An early ‘heads-up’ to get this date into your social diary! There’s to be another of Amanda’s action-packed Family Extravaganzas coming up soon.  It’ll be featuring fun, dancing, games and entertainment for all and it takes place at London’s fabulous Clapham Grand on Saturday, 12th March 2011 … between 2:00pm and 5:00pm.

Tommy Hollis Duck Day 2010!

Come along for a fantastic family day out at the Chiswick Town Hall on Sunday 10th October 2010.

Join Gymboree and Amanda for our duck-themed fundraiser in aid of the Tommy Hollis Charitable Fund (tommyhollisfund.co.uk).

All Chiswick parents will recall the tragic accident back in February this year when Tommy’s buggy was struck by a falling lamp-post outside the Chiswick Town Hall. He died in hospital two days later as a result of the injuries sustained to his head just a day before his 1st birthday.

Tommy’s parents Kate and Chris Hollis have since set up the Tommy Hollis Charitable Fund in Tommy’s memory, which donates money to existing charities (particularly local ones) working with children. They are currently working with REACT, a charity based in Kew that supports children suffering from serious long-term illnesses.

This autumn fete will be filled with great kids activities including Gymboree sessions and play area, Amanda’s Action Kids, Art Corner, Story Time, Hook-A-Duck, fantastic raffle and much, much more, all included in your ticket price of £10 per child. Plus teas, coffees, sandwiches, cakes and other delicious snacks, so stay for lunch as well – the perfect way to spend a gloomy October Sunday!

We were lucky enough at Gymboree to have Tommy in our classes for many months, he was much loved by everyone and we were all left devastated by his death. Giving our time and energy into fundraising for the charity is the best way we can think of to show our love and support for his family and we hope you will join us.

For more information please call Gymboree Chiswick on 07967 835 059, or email chiswick@gymboree-uk.com. Tickets available from 24 September from Gymboree Chiswick or Amanda’s Action Kids at the Chiswick Town Hall, Heathfield Terrace, W4 4JN.
