Tommy Hollis Duck Day 2010!

Come along for a fantastic family day out at the Chiswick Town Hall on Sunday 10th October 2010.

Join Gymboree and Amanda for our duck-themed fundraiser in aid of the Tommy Hollis Charitable Fund (tommyhollisfund.co.uk).

All Chiswick parents will recall the tragic accident back in February this year when Tommy’s buggy was struck by a falling lamp-post outside the Chiswick Town Hall. He died in hospital two days later as a result of the injuries sustained to his head just a day before his 1st birthday.

Tommy’s parents Kate and Chris Hollis have since set up the Tommy Hollis Charitable Fund in Tommy’s memory, which donates money to existing charities (particularly local ones) working with children. They are currently working with REACT, a charity based in Kew that supports children suffering from serious long-term illnesses.

This autumn fete will be filled with great kids activities including Gymboree sessions and play area, Amanda’s Action Kids, Art Corner, Story Time, Hook-A-Duck, fantastic raffle and much, much more, all included in your ticket price of £10 per child. Plus teas, coffees, sandwiches, cakes and other delicious snacks, so stay for lunch as well – the perfect way to spend a gloomy October Sunday!

We were lucky enough at Gymboree to have Tommy in our classes for many months, he was much loved by everyone and we were all left devastated by his death. Giving our time and energy into fundraising for the charity is the best way we can think of to show our love and support for his family and we hope you will join us.

For more information please call Gymboree Chiswick on 07967 835 059, or email chiswick@gymboree-uk.com. Tickets available from 24 September from Gymboree Chiswick or Amanda’s Action Kids at the Chiswick Town Hall, Heathfield Terrace, W4 4JN.

For those of you who may have watched this week’s episode of “What Katie Did Next”  (brand new series of the documentary show following Katie Price)  just returned to ITV2  – you may have spotted the very familiar figure of our very own Amanda Frolich leading the children’s party entertainment (see snapshot image above). If you missed last week’s transmission and you want to catch-up on events,  you’ll be able to find a link to it on ITV’s website.

During the series, Katie’s whirlwind of a life is in full spin as she releases her first solo single. Katie’s life continues to be hectic, as she juggles looking after three kids and spending time with her new husband Alex Reid with her many work ventures. In this first episode of the new series, Katie and Alex hold a joint birthday party for the children (which is where Amanda comes in).

Make a Saturday date in your diary for early October to come along to TES Education 2010, the capital’s ultimate childcare and education exhibition. You’ll find ideas, educational resources and inspiring CPD training for early years practitioners, primary and secondary teachers, classroom assistants and heads. The TES Education Show takes place from 1-2 October 2010 in Olympia’s National Hall.

And as if all that ‘education’ wasn’t enough of a ‘tempter’, there’s also the chance to meet Amanda and maybe help her with one of her active demonstrations! On Saturday 2nd October 2010 Amanda will be appearing (in conjunction with Spacekraft) at the TES 2010 Early Years show at London Olympia … and Amanda needs some ‘helpers’!

As part of a workshop she’s delivering on Saturday 2nd October - Amanda is looking for about 20 of her ‘toddlers’ to join her for ‘fun-and-frolics’ at 12:15pm for 30 minutes. Can you help?

Toddlers need to be aged 4 months to 4 years.  If you’re interested in volunteering one of your own ‘little-ones’ please email info@amandasactionclub.co.uk for more details.
